Lancelin bay, 5.8 koncept and sonic, JP and then Choco fin. A couple of runs at the end with the Kombat.

Was trying for Alphas in the smooth water up in the South end of the bay (when people were blocking the flat area). A few tactical turns half way out to get the clear area coming in.
 

PB Alpha 21.73 , approaching into top of lancelin bay at 23 knots, came into jybe at 25 slowed down to 11 and 6 seconds later at 22 again

a bit surprised but I knew it was fast (hissing around while flipping the sail) then powered up on the way out. Upwind today with the 5.8 koncept and plenty of wind was like being on a railway line. ( the choco fin perhaps).

With the kombat and the weedy a lot less solid, still ok.

Cant work out how to stop after the 30K downwind – need to learn lay down jybe.

Never really enough wind, very cloudy. Gusty, so enough for half a run and then it would drop out.

Great day, but need to get the file checked as the top speed seems a little odd (have posted the 2nd top for now, have posted the 10sec so will see if it needs correcting). Upwind was like being on a railway track, one fast run to top corner of the bay every time. Then run in waiting to get a gust, clear downwind run (all other sailors out of the way) and no kiters dropping down. Then downiwn over inside of reef, flat out into channel. Just couldnt work out how to stop / jybe. Ended up just dumping it in the channel, then waterstart.

Met Toby in water, buzzing about, he gave me 8 for the dismount 😉

After checking the doppler figures were accepted – PB of 33 rather than second best PB of 32, took a couple of days and referral to stewards 😉

Best runs were first of the day (while showing of to Elliott) and last one (just one more before I pack up). The last one was the 33, the wind was gusting up and everyone else (including Werner) had packed up. Some sailors at SP and MB.

Broke previous PB 2 Sec by 1.54 Knots, also got over 30 for 5×10 for the first time (1.52 Knots) even a PB if only the second best 2 sec was counted.
