The prize giving and races event, A lot of fun.

Wind a bit patchy but enough for the sonic and 5.8 most of the time. Missed the start of the races, was still wading out when they went of – actually caught a couple of people but then droppd the jybe.

Broke rear footstrap bolt after spending ages fiddling with setting son front straps, just thought I had them right and the back one (which I hadnt touched) snapped. It was nearly 6PM and sue was waiting so probably a good thing. Used 2nd hand choko weed fin – lovely to use.  Probably better than my “normal” one.

20091129athen when derigging realised that one boom arm was set differently to the other, might have been why it felt so strange some of the time.

A bit more wind than yesterday but still very gusty. 5.8

Downhaul came loose and the safety bowline jammed in the cleat. Ended up having to cut the rope, used the back of a wave fin and it sliced through it like a knife through butter ! Explains how come we cut ourselves on them so easily.

JT SL – Mettams to Costa

first normal coast run of the season. Nice sail. (forgot car keys and had to go back to office to get them as I only realised once I got to the car !) Weed fin was a bit weird. Although there were lots of lumps of weed.

Very light late sea breeze.

A brush with the dark side !

Pinna Pt to Mullaloo.

5.8 Koncept and 95l sonic, first time in the “ocean” with the sonic. Interesting, it doesnt jump real well, but had fun. Was surprised that there seemed enough wind but when I got home the trees werent moving.

Embarressment moment when I forgot to tie of the outhaul, boom swung down to 45 degrees ! I know the Koncepts only need negative outhaul but that might have been a bit too negative.

Gale warning so went to Lucky bay about 9:00. Started out with the Ezzy Wave Se and Kombat, then after the rain the wind dropped so went to the Sonic and then rigged the 5.8 Koncept and putted around for a while. Mark had the right idea and went home for lunch when the wind switched off. The ezzy was a handful in the gusts, overpowered and backwinding. Still good to get some sailing in and meet up with some other people who like getting wet in the rain.
